Dutch Sport Tech Fund (DSTF) has been in existence for two years since October. In the past period, we have added many new investments to our portfolio. The number now stands at 11, and there are several promising companies in the pipeline. More on this soon.
We are pleased to inform you that the price of one certificate has been re-established as of today. In the investor portal, you will find an overview of our participations and the calculation of the value of one DSTF certificate. As you will see, we have included a margin of a few cents. The price at which one DSTF certificate is available for purchase as of today is € 1.45.
Creation of the increase in value
Sporttech is extremely hot. At the moment, the participations Horizm and Fando represent a value that is a multiple of the value at the time we invested. It is a positive confirmation of what we are doing and of the choices we have made.
Justification of the increase in value
DSTF uses the standard that the valuation of its certificates is determined by the financing round of a portfolio company following the one in which DSTF invested, where independent parties have paid a price higher than DSTF’s entry price. If the price of this subsequent financing round is higher than the purchase price paid by DSTF, DSTF has (virtually) made a profit. This is reflected in the new price that DSTF announces once every six months. The sum of the value of all portfolio companies minus DSTF’s annual costs is divided by the number of certificates issued by DSTF. This results in the price of one certificate. This price is therefore revised semi-annually.
No value increase is assigned to portfolio companies that have not yet undergone a subsequent financing round and/or have only recently been acquired. No account is taken of the (interim) value increase of the fund-in-fund investment in the US, as this is not permitted under GAAP regulations there.
