Dotcomsport has recently scored a great deal in Saudi Arabia. The Mahd Academy, a government program that manages sports programs, is partnering with Dotcomsport. Saudi Arabia’s ambition is to measure the talent and skills of around one million children in the coming years using Dotcomsport’s tools.
The software from Dotcomsport is already used in 23 countries, including by FC Utrecht, the KNVB, the Irish Football Association, and more than 500 other sports organizations.
Johan Henkes of Dotcomsport: “Saudi Arabia is doing everything it can to develop a top-level sports climate. We are proud that they have chosen our talent tracking system. The Mahd Academy will not only use the Sport Management Platform from Dotcomsport; with our data, we also serve as an advisory body for the management and coaches of players. This makes it even easier for them to measure and improve the skills of athletes. This should ensure an optimal climate for elite sports in the country.”
More and more well-known athletes are finding their way to Saudi Arabia, which is also investing heavily in sports facilities. Henkes: “They are also aware of the role of talent. The Mahd Academy is a national project that discovers and develops talent from the age of six. Using (our) scientific methods and modern technologies, a new generation of local sports heroes should emerge. This is a prestigious project, with big ambitions, and we are happy to be a part of it.”
With the collaboration with Dotcomsport, Saudi Arabia aims to ensure that the performance of current athletes improves and that more talent emerges in the country. “In total, approximately one million children could be tested for their skills and talents in various sports. Initially, this would apply to football, but the performance and talents for other sports will also be measured. In this way, not only will more talented athletes be identified, but hopefully more athletes will break through. That is ultimately the most sustainable solution.”
Dotcomsport will assist the Mahd Academy with the administration, registration, and processing of athlete data. Henkes: “With this, the Mahd Academy hopes to prepare more talent for, among others, the Olympic teams of Saudi Arabia. We are proud that our software, and in the future also the solution of our partner Focus On Your Sport (membership administration system), will be used for this purpose.”
The first participation of Dutch Sport Tech Fund is International Sports Group (ISG). ISG’s subsidiary Dotcomsport is a multisports SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution for federations, clubs, coaches, and players to improve performance.
