The global sports technology market is booming! The ability to combine content and data has, among other things, led to a significant increase in investments in sports technology. As a result of these developments, sports technology as a part of the broader sports industry is also growing rapidly.
In 2019, the sports technology market was worth $11.0 billion (6.4% of the total sports market) and it was predicted to grow by 23.1% per year to reach $31.1 billion in 2024.
The global sports technology market is expected to grow more than three times as fast as the global sports market. As a result, the value of the sports technology market in 2024 will almost double compared to the global sports market, accounting for a share of approximately 13%. We expect the global sports technology market to become an industry worth more than 50 billion dollars by 2030, based on the current tailwinds in this sector.

The NBA is a well-known first-mover in this area, and given the symbiotic relationship of esports with technology, these findings are not surprising.
